Local residents plan event for veterans

With the help of a couple of friends — New York Times bestselling authors — Dave and Sandy Moll of Paola are planning an inaugural event for veterans in Kansas City this spring.

A few years ago, the Molls started Positive Assistance To getting Home (PATH) to aid veterans transitioning back to civilian life. While speaking with friend Janet Attwood, creator and author of “The Passion Test,” Sandy mentioned she wanted to do even more to help veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health issues.

“On American soil, one veteran is taking his life every 80 minutes,” Sandy said. “That’s just not OK to us.” Read More
